FAQ

Answers, not hedges.

The questions insights leads, research consultants, analysts and procurement teams ask most often. Something else on your mind? Get in touch.

  • What actually happens when I upload an SPSS file?+

The health wizard checks your .sav for missing data, odd types and duplicate IDs, and you confirm the groupings before anything is charted. The workbench then runs the cross-tabs and significance tests, codes the open-ends and drafts the narrative on your template. You review and sign off. Nothing is auto-published.

  • How do I check where a number in the deck came from?+

You get the source table, the exact computation that produced it, the weights applied, the significance tests run and, for open-end themes, the verbatims behind it. Every chart, stat and quote in the deck traces back the same way. There is no unsourced number in the export.

  • Does the AI ever run without a human in the loop?+

Only if you tell it to. Today an analyst steers every step. Narrative paragraphs are editable inline, and if you change the underlying table the paragraph re-binds to the new number on the next run. Code frames are yours to re-open, merge, split and rename, with the affected verbatims re-classifying. Coding runs also record whether a code came from the AI, a human, or a human overriding the AI, so you can see where your team took a different view. Unattended re-runs on tracker waves are rolling out; when they land, the analyst is notified for sign-off before anything publishes.

  • We already collect in Qualtrics. Where does DataImpel sit?+

Downstream of collection, upstream of the deck. Keep collecting in Qualtrics, Forsta, Alchemer, SurveyMonkey, Typeform, Jotform or your in-house panel, then bring the data across and DataImpel turns it into analysis, deck and live portal. SPSS, CSV, Excel and multi-file merges are live today; direct connectors and REST intake are rolling out.

  • Can we run the same report across many markets at once?+

Yes. One report can put your markets side by side, in the same order on every chart, on screen and in the PowerPoint export. You can split by a segment variable too. One run producing a separate deck per market is rolling out.

  • How is my data hosted and secured?+

EU (Frankfurt) or North America (US and Canada) regions by default, chosen per workspace. TLS 1.2+ in transit, AES-256 at rest, tenant isolation enforced by row-level policies in the database, Google Workspace SSO and MFA on the Enterprise roadmap. SOC 2 Type II controls are documented and a formal audit is on the roadmap. Additional regional residency and single-tenant deployments inside your own cloud are available on Enterprise. Full breakdown on /security.

  • How long until we're actually running a project on it?+

Most teams import their first real dataset in the first session and have a reviewed deck out the door within hours. A full rollout typically lands in 1 to 2 weeks with guided onboarding, covering the brand kit extracted from your master template, the house methodology captured, and workspace and access configured. Survey platform connectors and SSO are rolling out, so they are not part of onboarding yet.

  • How fast is the first deck on a new project, honestly?+

Hours, not weeks, measured on the first project rather than the tenth. Once the data is imported and the health wizard is green, the workbench auto-plans the analysis, runs the stats, codes the open-ends, drafts the narrative and binds it to your template end-to-end. Analysts step in to edit and steer, not to start from a blank canvas. Complex trackers or bespoke methodologies take longer on the first pass and shorter on every one after.

  • How does a tracker workflow actually work under the hood?+

Reusable workflows are rolling out, so this is the shape they take rather than something you can run today. Worth knowing if you are evaluating us for a tracker. The first wave is a normal project: you build the analysis plan, banners, cuts, weights, brand kit and narrative voice, review the deck and sign off. Promoting it to a workflow saves that whole configuration as a reusable object, so the next wave's data re-binds to the same tables, charts, slides and voice, with wave-on-wave significance and a diff showing what moved. Re-running a project manually works today.

  • Something you didn't cover: how do we get an answer?+

Book a 30-minute call on the contact page. We keep it specific: tell us about a recent study or a tracker brief, and we'll walk the workflow through on a dataset like yours rather than a canned demo.
